How can humans “listen to nature” and bring their needsand activities into alignment with those of nature? Are there
ways you can be more attentive to the natural world in your
daily life? How?

ReplyDeleteHumans can listen to nature by making their roads out of stone. Making it easier to get the materials also it creates no waste. We could also make our houses out of mud. This would make heating and cooling of houses easier. We can be more attentive to the natural world daily by doing easy stuff like Recycling. We can also do many other things like walking or biking to school and taking a train somewhere instead of a car. This creating less pollution, creating less acid rain, and both of these factors creating cooler climates and healthy soil.
Same thing as Andrew, stone roads will b harsher on our cars/bikes and how will we be able to enforce recycling? But everything else I agree to.

We can "listen to nature" by putting cement on stone grounds instead of dirt. When dirt are covered, it makes their quality lower a lot.

We could also help dirt by not blowing them up when mining. We could make our house out of mud because it makes the house cool in the summer and warm in the winter.We could pollute the world less by riding a bike. We should grow organic food. If we use anti-pest spray, it will make the dirt bad and pollute the water.

True, except two things: First of all, stone roads will be harsher on our cars and we will have to rely on factories for the tires. Second of all, not every one can ride a bike because of emergencies.

DeleteHumans can listen to nature by planting crops by hand instead of huge, dirt killing machines. We can also drive electric or non-fuel powered cars. Also, we can create all our electricity with dams, even though they cost a lot of money to build. But, at least the dirt can not get blown up. We can also try to not use pest spray and just make greenhouses instead because the nets or glass won't let the bugs in. And for fields, you can just chase the pests away or put a pest net around the whole thing. There are much more ways to do this. In fact, I barely scratched the surface!

DeleteI'm actually replying to both Matthew and Nitish. First Matthew do you know that no matter how bad the economy, the U.S would still build a dam (that powers electricity) across a mile of the Mississippi river. Nitish the pest net would cost thousands of dollars to buy and nobody would buy that. Maybe we could make a better pest spray that doesn't pollute water.

you have some great ideas, but im not sure if the government would allow building dams. it would cost too much cash out of their pockets, and we dont have the best economy right now.

Humans can listen to nature by useing better farming supplies and take care of our naturale resources and don't take them for granted.we could also take better care of our topsoil and not chop down trees for our houses and use a more green materiel. we should be more aware were we put concrete because that destroys our top soil.we could be more atentative by recycling and maybe have a community garden.we could also tare up some of the concrete and grow are own food.
ReplyDeletePlenty of people already have a garden. My Aunt covered her whole hill with a garden. But the problem with getting rid of big machines is that the demand for food makes it too hard to get rid of those big machines. Instead of getting rid of those big machines we could have them store the dirt that we get rid of and put it back when fixed.

We can listen to the earth by treating our agriculture system well by planting more plants using fertilizer, not pesticides. We don't have to use so much plastic! Humans need to recycle so that we have more by using less. We can be more attentive by taking care of our soil and not wasting it. The value of soil is wasted when it loses its fertility (using pesticides) and sue to erosion. People in India are having mobs of protest- just over dirt. Let's try to protect the earth so we can live a healthier life.

ReplyDeleteHumans can listen to nature by stop mass productions of pesticides which hurts the ground. We can also more strictly enforce the no littering law which anyone barely pays attention to. We can start eating organic food which hasn't been contaminated by pesticides. Something we can do is start a garden. Starting a garden is a great way to help the environment and there is nothing better than the foods you grow yourself.

ReplyDeleteHumans need to get down to nature more in their lives. they don't understand how importaint earth is. people need to stop cutting down all the trees- before we know it they'll all be gone! we could try to stop covering useful land in concrete, and even take it out. if that were to happen, we'd have more valuble land to farm and take care of. other things people could do would be recycling and picking up trash. both of those would lead to a better earth.

ReplyDeleteHumans can listen to the earth by stopping polution. polution is driving the earth down with harmful gasses. to stop this, people could start to ride bikes, or things that don't have a motor. other things that people could do to help the earth would be cleaning up litter, cut down less tress, and to stop covering earth with concrete. when humans chop down trees, their not only ruining forests, but their taking away animals homes.
Us humans can help the environment by treating ou soil and dirt as other people. People all around the world dont know what an impact we are making by treating the soil the way we treat it. Making our houses out of mud makes it a lot easier to coo and heat the house, and it helps the environment. If every household individually composted, then the compost could be collected from every house and put into a community garden so that everyone can see the beauty they have contributed to. If we also made a program when once a week seniors can ge together with kids like us and both can garden together, it gives us bonding time and helps the soil, dirt, and strengthens the community.

ReplyDeleteWe can listen to nature by sitting down with a handful of dirt and observing it very closely. When we destroy dirt, we are destroying ourselves. We need to be careful about how many trees we chop down. We could also tear some concrete like they did in the movie and grow plants like fruits and veggies we can use in our cafeteria. In our daily life we can fertilize the soil and water our plants so they can survive, and take care of our dirt!
We can listen to nature by planting crops, fertilizing and using compost. In our daily life we should plant more plants, tear out concrete, and not chop down too many trees to help soil. We all need soil, plants and animals too. We cant live without soil so we should take care of it.

I like when we take notes because when I take notes,they help me remember what I've learned in the movie or video.Dirt the movie showed how dirt is taken care of and how we use it. Since I Saw Dirt, I now understand how it's taken care of and how we use it. If you were going to give me a test on Dirt,I'm confident that I would get a good grade!!!!!!!!1
We can listen to nature by caring for it. Since the beginning of time we have had dirt with us but we really didn't care for it, we just took it for granted by now we realize that that dirt is us we don't treat the dirt right we are also not treating ourselves right!
ReplyDeleteWe can listen to nature by dealing with pollution. Humans can cut down on oil drilling so we have less oil leaks. Humans can also ride bikes almost anywhere we go which will lessen the amount of air pollution. With some of these changes, humans can have a greener life than having all of the pollution. And with less pollution we can let nature live and with less pollution we can listen to nature but that's just one step.

ReplyDeleteone way we can save dirt is by never throwing away anything away. every time someone throws something away it gets taken to the dump. After a few days a giant wind comes and takes all the trash to the city. since we arn't throwing anything away what we can do is compost it. Every item is made from earth so any thing can be composted. cardboard,leftovers, ect,any thing an be composted and not olny are we saving dirt, were also keeping our citys clean.
We could listen to nature by growing our on crops,composting,and recycling! Instead of covering up soil and building more and more parking lots,why can't we plant a garden? Our schools need more gardens! We could even plant them at community centers,parks,and other public places! Soil takes too long to make, so we shouldn't waste it!

We can be more attentive and careful to the world around us by buying organic foods, contour plowing, not paving so many roads, and crop rotation. If we use less pesticides it would not kill so many things in the dirt like decomposers. Crop rotation helps us keep the soil fertile. Contour plowing helps by keeping the dirt from blowing away. Paving roads and other places decreases the quality of the dirt a lot. It would be great if almost everyone could do those things to help the dirt.

ReplyDeleteWe can listen to nature by firstly, stop cutting down trees and start growing crops. If we don't even try to grow any crops all creatures that need to inhale oxygen will die. Second we should start conserving dirt. If we don't conserve dirt plants will die, DIRT is the key to life. Dirt has been here for us since the beginning of time, and now we're destroying it by putting cement over it. Thirdly dirt gives us food like carrots and tomatoes, they don't just spring out of nowhere. If the dirt isn't healthy you won't be because they make our fruits and vegetables. Lastly just sit out on the dirt and think thanks dirt you are my creator.

I think we humans can listen to nature by getting our hands dirty and planting some plant by our selfs. Within our daily lives we can ride our bikes to work and school or even walk to reduce pollution. Nature needs us and we need nature so let us do nature a favor for all that its done for us . I highly suggest you help this earth anyway you can this are just suggestions. So please help the earth!
